Loring's runway was the home of thousands of Phish Fans for two summers.
On the north end of the runway was the concert area and vending area while the rest of the runway was set up for camping. The two day (and night) concert made Limestone the 'Largest populated city in Maine'. About 70,000 fans show up to the Aug 16 and 17 1997 'Great Went' concert and about 60,000 fans showed up for the Aug 15 and 16 1998 'Lemonwheel' concert.
